How I Book More Brides On Instagram

USE INSTAGRAM TO TARGET CLIENTS LOOKING FOR YOUR SERVICES, DRIVE TRAFFIC AND TAKE BOOKINGS

Instagram is definitely one of the favourite social media platforms. As a wedding business, this visual based media can be massively influential in promoting your product or service.

It can also be frustrating, time consuming and understanding how to attract your ideal client can be a dark art.

Love, like or loath, you need Instagram! So we’ve rounded up our top five pointers on booking more brides on Instagram…

Say Hi over on Insta

CONSISTENCY IS EVERYTHING..

Be consistent, quality over quantity! Play it cool, don’t over post, but post enough to gain interest and trust in your brand.. at least once a day.

Plan ahead! You don’t have to automate your posts (automatic posting) but we would suggest having at least a week’s worth of content planned out. Maybe set a time to do this and get inspired.

There are lots of fantastic apps which can help you plan and lay out your content and I am currently using Tailwind to keep a library of pics and content and most importantly hashtags all together.

The great thing about Tailwind for Instagram is that it is the only app that currently schedules posts on a timer for you. It can also give you your own timetable of when is the best time to post so I would highly recommend. Check it out HERE

It’s not set in stone and can always be changed. You will also feel a tremendous sense of organisation from doing this, like getting your homework finished a week early!

EXPOSING!…

Okay we get it.. there is no where to hide on Insta! But people really do buy from the people behind the brand. They want to get to know you and … they want to see you! So you need to occasionally post pictures of yourself.

It can be daunting, but we find it helps to create an alter ego biz persona in your head for when you’re in front of the camera. Bring this character to life on Insta and save the ‘other you’ for the real world….and you thought Cordelia was my real name!

RATHER ENGAGING…

Identify what your clients want to see (Its all about them!) and build a following. Don’t try and tick too many boxes and please everyone.

Only post the best and true representations of your work. Once you have a following, actively engage with them.. as in ‘be social’, make comments and ask questions, maybe share a few posts!?

Again this cannot be automated and will take time, but responding to clients comments or asking open ended questions will again give your wedding biz that personal brand face. Spark a conversation or start a debate .. who doesn’t love a sounding board?

Your bio also needs engaging! Just make it clear, who you are, what you do and why you’re amazing. A few seconds of skim reading could lead to a follow.

CHEERLEADING SQUAD!

This could happen naturally or you could approach other suppliers to strategise and cheerlead each other. It’s another reason to follow and support your fellow wedding bosses. By liking and engaging in each other’s posts, Instagram is being told that this content is awesome and (in theory) will show it too more people!

Also it’s just a nice thing to do and will only serve you well in the real world. How many times have you met a fellow supplier in person after firstly building a relationship on social media?

I am also part of a few Instagram hubs, where we all like and comment on each others posts daily. Insta algorithms will love you for this!

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE HASHTAGS

Okay, so the rules are always changing and hashtags are either understood or drive wedding bosses to distraction! I’m a self professed hashtag queen (I know it’s not normal!) and often interrupt my train of thought with the idea of a potentially hot hashtag! But if you’re short on hashtag inspo.. check out similar accounts to your own and see what they are using.

Don’t automatically use the most popular.. you will get lost in a sea of trending accounts! Ideally you want to use a set of hashtags that are relevant and ‘warm’ but not too ‘hot. Save a collection to copy and paste and always add an extra relevant hashtag to your post.

We would also recommend adding your hashtags to your comments box just after posting. Insta responds well to this and from an aesthetic view, keeps your content clean and flowing.

Insta really can be an amazing tool for your wedding business and so much more than a means of social proof! Go ahead and try out these tips now.. your dream clients are out there on Insta and they’re looking for you #bookmorebrides
